How much does Shopify cost?

There are monthly costs for your online store. In return, Shopify automatically takes care of all the technical aspects of your store, including hosting, security, ongoing updates, and more. In addition to Shopify's fixed costs, which vary by pricing plan, there are transaction fees for your payment processing. If you choose the right payment provider, the transaction fee they charge you anyway is already included. There are usually no real additional costs.

What happens when your trial ends?

It gets even cheaper if you choose Shopify for the long term and book and pay for the plan for multiple years. When you pay annually, you save an average of 25%.

      Basic

The Shopify Basic Plan is the start of your own online business with Shopify. You get a full Shopify store and an integrated Shopify blog (like the one you're reading right now). Your online store includes an unlimited number of products, Shopify's fraud risk analysis tool, the ability to work with discount codes, a free SSL certificate to ensure the security of your transactions, and 24/7 support from Shopify. You also get a number of features and functions for Shopify POS or international sales.

How much does Shopify Basic cost?

The basic plan costs 36 euros per month. In addition, Shopify charges a transaction fee for European credit cards of 2.1% + 0.30 euros per order. The transaction fee for external payment providers is 2.0% when not using Shopify Payments.

      The Shopify Plan

The most popular Shopify plan. The Shopify Plan offers all the functions and features of the Basic Plan. One of the main differences with the Shopify Basic Plan is the ability to automate processes. Manual processes can be automated and optimized into workflows as your business continues to grow. Read more about this in our blog post: Automating processes with Shopify Flow. You can also benefit from lower transaction fees and detailed reporting.

How much does the Shopify plan cost?

The Shopify plan costs €105 per month, and Shopify's transaction fees drop to 1.8% + €0.30.

      The Advanced-Plan

The Shopify Advanced Plan is an advanced version of the Shopify Plan. While the other two plans only allow you to create 2 or 5 employee accounts, the Advanced Plan allows you to have up to 15 employees running your shop. The most important difference, however, is the calculation of third-party shipping costs at checkout. This is particularly important for businesses that outsource shipping due to the wide variety of products. In addition, customs duties and import taxes for international trade can be calculated and collected at checkout. This makes the total cost transparent to the end customer and reduces the risk of parcel refusals.

How much does the Shopify Advanced plan cost?

The Shopify Advanced plan costs €384 per month with a transaction fee of 1.6% + €0.30. The Shopify Advanced plan is perfect for established businesses that are already successful in e-commerce and want to continue to grow.

When should I change my Shopify plan?

You can switch between plans at any time with a monthly payment. This applies not only to upgrading, but also vice versa. If you are just starting your business, we recommend that you start with the Shopify Basic plan and upgrade as you go. If you already have a business and want to switch to Shopify, you can find more recommendations here.

Which plan is best for me?

Which Shopify plan is best for you depends on several criteria. The best and cheapest plan can be determined based on the features you need, but also based on your revenue: If your monthly turnover is between €0 and around €10,000, you should stick with the basic plan if you don't need the advanced features. From a turnover of around €10,000 per month, we recommend the Shopify plan, mainly because of the fees. At the latest from a turnover of around €20,000 per month, we recommend you upgrade to the Shopify Advanced plan.

      transaction fees

In addition to the Shopify fees, transaction fees should also play an important role when choosing your pricing plan. If your business already generates a lot of revenue per month, it may be worth choosing the Shopify Plan or even the Shopify Advanced Plan, as the commission is significantly lower.
